Dorothy Ann Scott

Dorothy Ann Scott, 82, of Du Quoin, passed away at 4:50 P.M., Saturday, March 6, 2004 at her residence.
Dorothy was of the Catholic Faith. She had been the owner and operator of Scotty's Laundry in Du Quoin for thirty years.
She was born June 17, 1921 at Sparta, IL the daughter of John and Agnes (Barthalomue) Smith.
She married Robert Lee Phillips in June 1939 at Jackson, MO and he died in March 1963. She then married Edgar Scott in March 1963 at Du Quoin, IL and he died in June 1967.
She is survived by a daughter- Elizabeth Phillips of Du Quoin, two sons- Steven Phillips of Du Quoin and Edward Phillips of Carbondale, two brothers- Jack Smith of St. Paul, Minn, Harry Smith Sr. and wife Vida of St. Louis, MO, two sisters- Pearl Smith of St. Louis, MO and Alberta Burris of St. Paul, Minn, ten grandchildren- Robert Phillips of St. Louis, MO, Katrina Phillips of Carbondale, IL, Stephanie Rose of Du Quoin, IL, Dorothy Phillips of St. Louis, MO, Rhonda Walker of St. Louis, MO, Mechelle Phillips of Shaumberg, IL, Cinnamone Phillips of Houston, TX, Cassandra Montez of Torrance, CA, Mattie Phillips of Long Beach, CA, and Tiffany Mathews of Vandalia, MO, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son- John Robert Phillips, daughter- Mary Margaret Phillips, great grandson- Skyler Rose.
Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 13, 2004 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.
Friends may called from 9 to 11 A.M., Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery at Du Quoin.
